Field and Rules of Play
March 03, 2008
NCAA rules Lacrosse is played on a field 60 yards by 110 yards. Three attackmen try to score goals by putting the ball into the opponent's net. Three midfielders set up the attack and try to stop the opponent's attack by stealing the ball. Three defensemen try to keep the opponents away from the goal. The goalie, in the final analysis, keeps the ball out of the net. The ball is of solid rubber, and is one big reason for all the protective equipment, especially on the players' heads. High school games are made up of four quarters of 12 minutes each.
