Chaminade Guard Competes at Regionals

By Louis Ullrich

March 19, 2008

The Guard returned to CCHS at midnight last Saturday after a solid performance at the U. S. Army Western Regional Drill Championships at Texas A&M University.  Marching with 5 freshmen, the team earned 7th place overall with 7th in Regulation, 8th in Inspection, 10th in Color Guard and 10th in exhibition.  With the emphasis on dress and weapons alignment beginning with drill during the break this week, the team should be a real trophy contender at upcoming meets, to include the Nationals at Daytona Beach, May 3 - 4.

For the first time, the Regionals did not include an Academic event.
