Distinguished Alumnus Award to Tarrillion
CCHS President Honored by St. Mary's Alumni
by Pat Cunningham
March 26, 2008
On Thursday, March 27, the St. Mary's University Alumni Association honored Central Catholic's President, Rev. Joseph Tarrillion, SM ('51) as one of its Distinguished Alumni. CCHS graduate Chris Maguire ('63) was also honored.
Father Tarrillion recently received a plaque from CCHS recognizing his fifteen years of service. During that time, the school's campus facilities have been markedly improved and expanded, the academic and sports programs have been enhanced, and the faculty's academic credentials significantly advanced. During the fifteen years, CCHS graduates have been offered over $80 million in college scholarships.
Father Tarrillion also served St. Mary's University as a member and chair of the Theology Department. The alumni association representative who presented the plaque was CCHS graduate Ed Boyle, association president.
We recently learned that former CCHS faculty member Jim Forkenbrock, a St. Mary's alum, will be the next president of the St. Mary's University Alumni Association.
