Jazz It Up update--the final touches!
Cafeteria makeover reaches the end

The Central Catholic crew worked tirelessly all summer jazzing up our cafeteria courtesy of the proceeds from the 2009 Parent Event! First on the list was the installation of new windows for the 80 year old room.
Week 2 the crew was hard at work prepping for the new ceiling. The plan is to replace the old ceiling with fresh lighting, new ceiling tiles and brand new beams. Pictures of the bare ceiling can be seen in the photos above.
For week 3, the beams were installed to begin the first stages of installing the ceiling. Take a look at the new photos in the gallery at the top right.
When Week 4 concluded the crew had the ceiling fully prepped and ready for the installation of the new ceiling tiles. The Central Catholic sprucing is happening faster than we think!
For week 5, before the new ceiling tiles can be installed the crew had to make sure the new lighting was ready and wired. Now that all the beams are in, they had to install the new lighting fixtures, shedding some light on the subject!
The crew kept on trucking toward the end of week 6 and 7 ! For week 6, the beams were painted to give them a more warm feeling. They chose a dark finish to give a more updated look for the cafeteria. For Week 7, they began the sprucing of the serving line. The lattices have been removed and wall will be built around the back ramp.
At the end of week 8 more dramatic changes were evident. The serving line is new and improved; adding a unique way to grab a bite to eat! In addition, steel beams were added to the ceiling before finally adding the tiles. As the new school year gets closer and closer, the harder this crew works.
We have now reached the final weeks and the Central Catholic cafeteria is looking sharp, ready for the first week of school! After more than 10 weeks of hard work, the almost 80 year old room is looking young. And not only does it look young, but it will sound young too. Thanks to our crew a new PA system has been installed to serve our students when important announcements are made.
The brand new Blue and White serving line and trash receptacles have also arrived, sporting the Central Catholic logos. There are just a few minor touch ups to made and the cafeteria will be ready for use for the first full week of school. Be the first to see all the new improvements by checking out the photos!
Special thanks goes to Bro. Tom Suda, S.M. and Mario Gonzalez, from the Maintenance Department for all their hard work on our new and improved place for meeting and eating!
