CCHS Accreditation
What Professionals Think of Us
January 15, 2008
Southern Association of Colleges & Schools
Central Catholic High School has for many decades been accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), which makes us a member of AdvanceEd, the largest educational organization in the country. Very few schools are accredited by this prestigious accrediting and resource association.
Our most recent accreditation cycle concluded in January, 2008. The visitation report recommended continued accreditation without condition. A copy of the entire report may be examined at the school office. Here are some of the commendations given by the visiting team:
School and community belief and mission statements are clearly articulated and demonstrated in the various programs of the school. The presence and support of the Marianist Community is an extremely valuable support system.
The general spirit, pride, and involvement of all of the students, faculty, staff, administration and parents in a shared learning environment is refreshing. All are obviously engaged in college preparatory activities and are goal-oriented.
There is significant evidence of a great amount of study and reflection in the development of the strategic plan for the school.
There is an outstanding administrative team in place at Central Catholic with tremendous skill and experience. The Assistant Principal and Principal are highly skilled and work extremely well together. The Directors have added additional strength to the administrative team. Together, they provide a consistency of leadership.
The vertical integration of science program in which Central Catholic works with six middle schools has proven to be an innovative and highly successful program.
There is a clear culture of service within the school and it provides many opportunities for the young men of CCHS to serve their community.
Texas Catholic Conference Education Dept. Accreditation (TCCED)
The primary accrediting body for all Catholic high schools in Texas is the TCCED. Every ten years this accrediting body conducts a visitation in the wake of the school's self-study. The last accreditation cycle concluded in December, 2007. The school received many commendations and was reaccredited without qualification. A copy of the TCCED report may be examined in the school office.
