The Dux Esto Awards

One of Central Catholic's oldest awards is the Dux Esto plaque. Given each year, and now in summer school, the Dux Esto is issued to the student in each course who exemplifies the highest scholarship of the year. Teachers of each course confer and consider grades, growth attitude and true scholarship. Teachers retain the right to not award the Dux Esto, but CCHS students have such a desire for learning that this retention is rare.
The phrase Dux Esto is Latin, meaning "be a leader."
