Liturgies
We Celebrate the Christ Mystery
December 03, 2007
At Central Catholic High School we have several different experiences in liturgy. The school has an all-school liturgy each month in the gym for the entire student body. These 8:15 a.m. Masses revolve around holy days of obligation, Marian feasts, and school celebrations. Students and faculty serve as the ministers at the school liturgies, with a cantor, choir and a liturgical ensemble. Marianist priests from Central Catholic and St. Mary's lead the celebration in keeping with the General Instruction on the Roman Mass.
In addition to our monthly liturgies, we also have daily Mass in our school chapel at 7:25 a.m.. These are optional and open to anyone who would like to attend. A short homily is usually offered by one of our clergy. We also have one or more reconciliation services each semester for the students and adults. Done at the time of religion classes, the students participate in a short service and examination of conscience, and then are invited to celebrate reconciliation with a priest or pray individually in the chapel.
Students dress in dress shirt and tie and dress slacks on monthly student Mass days!
Note: Parents and guests are always welcomed.
All-School liturgies begin at 8:15 a.m. with the exception of those
otherwise notated.
