Which of Central Catholic's competitive teams has the most state championships of the past ten years?  Not even the incredibly successful soccer varsity can come close to the Central Catholic Rifle Team.  Although shooting is an Olympic sport, it does not have a presence in the TAPPS pantheon of activities.  However, a number of organizations sponsor competitions that go all the way up to the national level.  Central Catholic shooters have been competitive in all of them.

 Bordelon Rifles at Practice

The CCHS rifle squad, made up of cadets from both Central Catholic and Providence, is named after Medal of Honor winner William Bordelon '38.  At the dedication of the Bordelon memorial in November, 2007, members of the Bordelon Rifles served as the honor guard.  They repeat this service at all ceremonies at the memorial.
