CURRENT CCHS PARENT TOURNAMENT PLAYER REMINDERS:

The Larry Grothues Memorial CCHS Golf Classic Committee continues its mission to bring the 21st Century Technology to CCHS students, teachers, and staff. In 2023, the tournament will:

  • Continue the Lenovo Chromebook laptop campaign for any student that needs a device – in the past two years, 42 students on average annually accepted new laptops; the remainder replenished outdated Chromebooks that are used by all classrooms as part of the entire school curriculum.

  • Security, Security, Security: So that students, parents, faculty, and all staff have peace of mind, proceeds will fund reinforced security doors; add more security cameras; institute a badge system to unlock doors, and add more perimeter fencing with technology to let people in as needed.

  • Refresh outdated technology including WiFi hot spots and extend coverage to outside areas.

  • 10% designated for technology needs for students as they arise.

Items funded by the 2022 Larry Grothues Golf Classic, based on profits of $72,000:

  • Start-up costs for new varsity-level eSports Team including best-in-class computers, wiring, programming, and creation of eSports Arena on campus. Launched Fall 2022 with over 50 varsity players, two coaches, and partnerships with local colleges, it has already placed 2nd place out of six teams and continues to receive requests to enter premiere eSports tournaments across the state. As the first local private high school with a Varsity eSports program, CCHS has attracted many students specifically because of this eSports team.

  • New Lenovo Chromebook laptops for any student that needs a device – in the past two years 42 students on average annually accepted new laptops; in addition, replenished outdated Chromebooks that are used by all classrooms as part of the entire school curriculum.

  • Critically needed Firewall hardware – to ensure school technology is safe and secure from outside threats

  • Digital announcement signage in hallways, cafeteria, and other key points to help communicate important messages to students and faculty across the campus – very impressive to prospective parents touring the school.
