Merit Based Scholarships

Central Catholic High School provides merit-based scholarships to students who excel academically. These scholarships are available through the generosity of our alumni and friends in honor and memory of those for whom the scholarships are named.
Please note:
  • Students may receive only one merit-based scholarship.
    • Scholarships awarded by the school or the Alumni Association based on High School Placement Test results do not affect a student’s eligibility for merit-based scholarships.
  • Merit-based scholarships are determined by a student's academic performance, leadership, and moral character. If a student wants to be considered for both a merit-based scholarship and grant opportunity (financial assistance), then his family must also complete the Financial Needs Assessment in FACTS.
  • Receiving financial assistance has no influence on merit-based awards.

→To be considered for a merit-based scholarship please complete 1. Online Scholarship Application Form and 2) Recommendation form and letter(s). Recommendation forms and letters can be completed and submitted to the school office or via email to

→To be considered for a grant (financial assistance) please complete the Financial Needs Assessment in FACTS.

The Awards Committee will begin awarding merit-based scholarships on February 8, 2019. A student's merit-based scholarship application is considered ready for review by the Awards Committee once the online scholarship application and recommendation(s) have been submitted.  Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, and funds will continue to be awarded until all funds have been designated. The Awards Committee made up of administrators and teachers will meet to review applications. Decisions of the committee are final.
