On June 8, 2018 Central Catholic High School held a Blessing and Commencement Ceremony for the new Convocation Center! This special day fell just two days before the June 10th Beatification of Blessed Mother Adele, of whom the new chapel is named for. The highly anticipated groundbreaking event was attended by more than 200 alumni, current students, faculty, staff, family members and members of the San Antonio community.
This $12 million project will include a new regulation sized basketball court, practice courts, a weight room, locker rooms for every varsity sport, and the Mother Adele Chapel & Reflection Garden! This project is part of a master plan that began 40 years ago, in fact, most of our Marianist Brothers have mentioned that they themselves have been waiting for this day for many years.
We would like to thank the Capital Campaign committee, led by Mr. Bob Elizondo ’62, for their tireless efforts over the past few years and for always keeping the Marianist faith at the center of their work.
With a little over $3 million dollars to go, there’s still time to get involved! All donations will go directly toward the new Convocation Center and building an endowment for expenses of the new facility. Gifts of all sizes are appreciated and will help Central Catholic continue our mission.
The Central Catholic Convocation Center is scheduled to open its doors in the summer of 2019.
Central Catholic High School is a college preparatory school educating young men, from diverse backgrounds, in the Marianist tradition for success through the development of scholarship, leadership and moral character.
