Your participation in the Parent Club fundraisers and social activities, through gifts of time, talent, and treasure, will significantly enrich the educational experience of our students as well as strengthen our school community.
How can you become involved? The Parent Club has multiple volunteer opportunities in many different areas. These opportunities range from donating food for a staff appreciation function to chairing an event to becoming a member of the Parent Club Executive Board. We hope that you will consider volunteering within the Central Catholic community in a way that works for you.
One of our biggest fundraisers for financial assistance is our annual Truck Raffle. Each year, the raffle begins at the start of the school year with the drawing scheduled to take place during halftime of the CCHS Homecoming football game. We need volunteers to assist with weekly counting and serving as “Site Directors” who will assist the boys at various sale sites.
Let our grandparents know how much they mean to us. Our Grandparents’ Day celebration will honor the CCHS grandparents by sharing love, wisdom and heritage. Our mass and luncheon occurs in the Fall. We need volunteers to assist with registration, serving, and clean-up.
The CCHS front office is open year-round, and we always appreciate assistance with a variety of administrative tasks. These tasks include helping with answering phones, mailing projects, photocopying, making phone calls, and filing, helping with attendance and organizing. Volunteering in the CCHS office is a great opportunity for you to meet the faculty, staff and other parent volunteers.
Volunteers in the library empower our teachers and students by providing them access to resources for academic and personal use. The responsibilities include checking items in and out, maintaining the library’s appearance and monitoring students. Library volunteers will enjoy the interactions with library patrons as well as the relaxing environment the library offers to all visitors. Volunteers are needed especially from 7- 9 am and from 3-5 pm as these are the times when the library experiences the most use.
Forming leaders through excellence in education since 1852, Central Catholic High School will host its annual Central Catholic Gala in February 2017. This popular and important event is a joint effort between the Central Catholic Alumni Association and the Central Catholic Parent Club. The purpose of our Gala is to raise funds that help Central Catholic High School educate diverse young men and develop them into leaders of our community and nation. Volunteers are needed to help with soliciting auction items, class basket items, and sponsorships.
The volunteer groups play an important role in supporting the school’s athletic programs, JROTC programs, band programs, academic team and campus ministry/service projects. They are always looking for volunteers to assist with various initiatives and events for these groups.
This event will be held in May 2017 and is a special time for mothers and sons to gather for liturgy, lunch and to make many special memories. Volunteers are needed to serve on the committees such as decoration, logistics, invitation, registration, etc. The Mother/Son committee typically meets once a month.
Parents come together to make and distribute snacks for the boys during exam week. We need volunteers to help make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and other snacks for the boys during both Fall and Spring exam periods.
The Spirit Shoppe provides apparel and accessories so our parents, students, and alumni can show their support. We always welcome volunteers and are looking for assistance to manage the store during the week, football games, and other athletic games and special events. We can also use help with inventory, stocking and pricing.
The Alumni Association is proud to support the work of Central Catholic High School. Its mission is to preserve a close relationship between the school and its alumni, promoting faith and educational ideals and goals of the school and provide support in achieving these goals, and to provide scholarships and tuition assistance for current students. We especially need volunteers to help serve food and drink during the Homecoming After-Game celebration.
The M.G. Golf Classic tournament is held each Spring with proceeds underwriting advanced technology for all Central Catholic students. The committee welcome new members and may need some volunteers to serve as hole-in-one judges and help with registration.
