High School Placement Test (HSPT)

As part of the application process, Central Catholic requires that all applicants who are applying as incoming 9th-graders take an entrance exam and submit their scores to the Enrollment Office. The HSPT is a timed (2.5 hours) exam and has a $15 fee.

Does your student need to take the HSPT? Central Catholic is offering various HSPT dates for 8th-grade students. Contact Mrs. Herman to schedule your student's HSPT!

If a student takes his HSPT at Central Catholic or chooses Central Catholic as a high school option at the time of testing, then his HSPT results will be sent to Central Catholic automatically.

Teacher Recommendations

All applicants must submit at least two teacher recommendations: one recommendation from their current Math teacher and one recommendation from their current English teacher. The teacher recommendation form can be found HERE. Recommendation forms and school records can be submitted simultaneously with the online application. Recommendations can be sent to Central Catholic High School by:

Enrollment Office Communication with Middle Schools

Central Catholic can request an applicant's school records and teacher recommendations from his middle school. Central Catholic encourages parents to follow up with their middle school for records and teacher recommendations, as both are needed to complete an application. Central Catholic will be in touch with both parents and middle schools if an application is incomplete or missing pertinent information.

Our Responsibility

The Central Catholic High School Admissions Committee will evaluate each application with the utmost respect and fairness, as is consistent with our Marianist tradition of service and justice. We will make a decision based on HSPT scores, middle school records, recommendations, and interview (if required).
