Guardian Angels - Mission San Juan Recap

On August 27, a group of 25 Central Catholic students (and two siblings) spent their Saturday morning
volunteering at the Mission San Juan Community Farm. It was hot and humid, but the guys had a blast.

Coincidentally, Jacob Maldonado (CCHS alum – class of 2017 and former Guardian Angels president) was
also volunteering at the project with a group known as the “Good Samaritans” and gave a powerful
motivational speech to our current Central Catholic students.

All the produce from this farm goes toward feeding the homeless at Haven for Hope and needy families
at the San Antonio Food Bank. (It just so happens that our next two service projects will be at Haven for
Hope and the San Antonio Food Bank.)

After our project, Mr. Bendele led a hike around the historic mission and the San Antonio River, while
pointing out the native flora and fauna.

If you are interested in finding out more information regarding future service projects, please see Mr.
Bendele in room 252 before or after school.
The Guardian Angels have a lot going on this semester!
