JROTC to Honor Alamo Heroes at Solemn Memorial Service - Wednesday, March 6

We are excited to share the news of an upcoming event that pays tribute to the brave Texas Defenders who lost their lives at the Alamo on March 6, 1836. The Alamo Mission Chapter (AMC) of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT), in partnership with The Alamo, will be hosting a solemn Memorial Service at Alamo Plaza on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm.
The distinguished Brigadier General Russel D. Driggers, Joint Base San Antonio and 502nd Air Base Wing Commander, will serve as the keynote speaker for this significant event. Additionally, the U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (AJROTC) at Central Catholic High School will proudly present the flags of the States and Nations from which the Heroes of the Alamo originated as their individual names are called. This poignant gesture serves as a tribute to their memory and service.
To set the tone for this solemn occasion, the renowned US Air Force Band of the West Brass Quintet will provide a prelude of patriotic songs.
We are pleased to announce that this event is free and open to the public. We invite the community to join us at Alamo Plaza to pay their respects and honor the Texas Defenders who made the ultimate sacrifice for their beloved state.
