This month, the Mathematics Department unfolded a series of engaging activities in celebration of Math Awareness. Among the highlights was a Rubik's Cube tournament, ingeniously orchestrated in the style of March Madness. Guided by the enthusiastic leadership of Mr. and Mrs. Moreno, participants faced off in a riveting competition, each victor from the brackets advancing on the basis of their speed in solving the Rubik's Cube.
As the tournament progressed, the excitement reached its peak in the championship round. It was there that Mac emerged as the triumphant champion, showcasing an impressive feat of solving the Rubik's Cube in a mere 26 seconds. Hot on his heels was Gio Alameda, who clinched the position of runner-up in this closely contested finale.
The tournament not only tested the participants' problem-solving skills but also brought together the math community in a celebration of intellectual sport. We eagerly look forward to what next year's Math Awareness activities will bring!
