On April 29, 2025, a student on our soccer team informed the school that he was experiencing
bullying and hazing and that he was a victim of a sexual assault by another student or students.
The school’s administration took immediate action, launched an internal investigation and
implemented student discipline in accordance with the school’s Student Code of Conduct based
on the evidence and facts that could be determined at the time. This included disciplinary
withdrawals of two students from our school, including one who was a senior and who was not
permitted to graduate from Central Catholic High School, and another student at a lower grade
level who is no longer enrolled or eligible for re-admission. Three other students had appropriate
disciplinary actions taken based on their actions revealed in the investigation.
Bullying, hazing or violations of law are not tolerated and have no place at Central Catholic High
School. The Board of Directors is committed to Central Catholic’s mission of providing an
education in the Catholic Marianist tradition, teaching young men to serve others, establish
justice and ensure peace to all of God’s creatures. To address the concerns of parents, students, alumni and community, and in accordance with our commitment to student safety as our highest priority, Central Catholic High School’s Board of Directors is engaging a third-party to conduct an independent investigation and review of the recent events and actions taken. This process will also address any related allegations that may come to light that involve our students, faculty or staff.
The school’s administration has also been working with law enforcement in San Antonio as they
investigate the allegations. The San Antonio Police Department has informed us that they are
coordinating with the Round Rock Police Department on their own investigation. While these
law enforcement investigations remain active and ongoing, the school’s administration did not
delay enforcement of the Student Code of Conduct and implemented disciplinary consequences
where students were found to have violated the Code of Conduct. The school continues to fully
cooperate with law enforcement in all these matters.
We encourage students or parents with information related to these allegations or any other incidents to come forward and report to the school. They may do so through the online incident reporting form, by contacting one of the school’s counselors, or by contacting President Jason Longoria. In addition, if a parent or student believes they have been a victim of a crime, they are encouraged to contact the San Antonio Police Department. Once the Board’s third-party is engaged, a reporting and contact channel will also be provided to our community. We want to ensure all parents and students that any reported concerns will be thoroughly reviewed and taken seriously, and that Central Catholic is committed to taking prompt and appropriate action. Further, any form of retaliation against any student who comes forward is strictly prohibited and will be addressed appropriately. While the investigation and review are underway, faculty or
staff may be placed on administrative leave to ensure the integrity of the investigation, as
appropriate, and not necessarily as a disciplinary action.
We will provide further information and communication to our community as appropriate. As we navigate this difficult period, we are guided by our faith-filled view of education and belief in the development of scholarship, leadership and moral character. We ask again that you join us in prayer for those affected by the recent incidents and for the future of our Central Catholic
community and students
